Gender Commitment

:GAIN is deeply committed to gender justice and equality, building our research on feminist, queer, and decolonial scholarship. Our project uses these principles as a core lens to understand the harms of Generative AI Facilitated Information Weaponization (GAFIW) and Generative AI Facilitated Misinformation (GAIFM). We actively foreground the voices and lived experiences of communities in the Global South and other vulnerable populations. By collaborating with individuals who have an intersectional positionality, we commit to document knowledge about GAFIW and GAIFM through a framework that recognizes how gender, sexuality, race, and ethnicity are all interconnected. Our methodology, which includes design justice and co-creation, is fundamentally shaped by feminist perspectives and grounded in the realities of those most affected, ensuring we move beyond simple representation. This approach allows us to produce nuanced, multivocal knowledge that challenges dominant discourses by centering the voices often marginalized in discussions about technology and its impact.
